If you’re looking to make sure your caller ID is blocked on a specific number everytime you call it, and you’re using Verizon as your telephone carrier, you’re in luck because it’s so easy to do. The Verizon website outlines it like so:
Caller ID Blocking
To Deactivate Caller ID on individual outbound calls:
- Press *67.
- Dial the number.
- Press SEND. The words “Private,” “Anonymous,” or some other indicator will appear on the called party’s Caller ID device instead of your wireless number.
To Deactivate Caller ID on all calls to a specific number:
Press *82 + the number + SEND.
So, whether it’s on a land line or a cell phone, you can dial *82 before a number and you’ll always have that number blocked from then on.
Also, if you’d like, you can set it so that every outgoing call is automatically Caller ID Blocked. This is accomplished by:
- Sign-in to My Verizon.
- Click on the My Plan tab.
- Click on Add/change features.
- Check the box near “Caller ID Blocking.”
- Click the Next button at the bottom of the form.
Verizon is awesome if you’d like to block your caller ID. If you’re looking to Spoof it and show something besdies “Blocked” or “Anonymous” you can use a service like Spoofcard to change your number.
